Long before diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) were buzz words, our founder was working across communities to make publishing a more equitable field for BIPOC communities. As a Latina in publishing for nearly 20 years, she has been witness to practices that exclude people and cultures from the book world. Her brass tacks and boots-to-the-ground strategies have enabled her to combat much of the discrimination that she faced early on in her career.
The work that she has done and continues to do through the non-profits that she works with and through the Authentic Voices program that she founded has helped countless folx in the world of books. With her first-hand knowledge she has changed and led organizations from the inside out providing lasting, impactful change that measures far beyond panels and conversations.
